Dolphins win on Thanksgiving

Joey Harrington was on the winning side in his return to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. Rallying from an early 10-0 deficit, Harrington threw for 3 touchdowns in a 27-10 victory. It was his best performance in a Thanksgiving game, mostly attributable to the fact that he was playing against the Lions, not for them. Harrington completed 19 of 29 passes for 213 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception.

The Dolphins running offense contributed as well. Ronnie Brown gained 68 yards on 15 carries before leaving with a hand injury. Sammy Morris stepped in and carried the ball 12 times for 91 yards, including a 55-yarder. The extent of Brown's injury wasn't revealed.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Dolphins held the Lions to 220 total yards and had eight sacks and two turnovers.

Dolphins win third straight, Colts lose

Despite the offense's best efforts to lose the game, the Dolphins defense, led by Jason Taylor, led the team to its third straight victory, 24-20 over the Minnesota Vikings. Taylor returned an interception for a touchdown and forced two fumbles. Taylor has now scored seven career touchdowns, tied for most in a career by a defensive lineman.

On the offensive side of the ball, Joey Harrington went 26 for 42 for 254 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The running game, however, netted MINUS-3 yards! Ronnie Brown gained only two yards on 12 carries. In the end, a win is a win, but the defense has clearly been carrying the offense through the team's recent victories.

On another note, the Dallas Cowboys handed the Indianapolis Colts its first loss of the season, preserving the 1972 Dolphins' perfect record. Yay, let the champagne corks pop.

Dolphins hold on to beat Chiefs, 13-10

The Dolphins jumped out to a 13-0 and then held on for a 13-10 win for their second victory in a row. The Chiefs also had their 3-game winning streak snap.

The Dolphins defense held the Chiefs to 265 total yards, which was fortunate because the offense still sputtered. Former Dolphin Damon Huard, who had been performing well recently for Kansas City, went 15-for 38 for 201 yards.

Joey Harrington completed 19 of 35 passes for 201 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. Ronnie Brown gained 89 yards on 25 carries with one touchdown but also fumbled once.

Dolphins whip previously unbeaten Bears

You know what they say about the NFL -- on any given Sunday, any team can win. The Dolphins certainly proved the axiom true as they thumped the previously 7-0 Chicago Bears, 31-13. The Dolphins were 2-touchdown underdogs, and I didn't hear anyone give them a chance.

The game wasn't as lopsided as the score indicated. The Dolphins victory was mainly the result of six Bears turnovers, including a Jason Taylor interception that was returned for a touchdown. Joey Harrington had a lackluster day, completing half of his 32 attempts for just 137 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. However, Ronnie Brown rushed for a career high 157 yards on 29 carries.

If the Dolphins played every game with the same intensity that they showed today, they'd be 6-2 instead of 2-6 today. At least they made sure that the Bears wouldn't go undefeated this season and match the 1972 Dolphins' feat.
