Dolphins sign Carey, Crowder

The Miami Dolphins staved off losing two players to free agency when they signed offensive tackle Vernon Carey and linebacker Channing Crowder to new contracts. Carey's deal is worth $42 million over six years, but the amount of Crowder's three-year contract was not disclosed.

The Dolphins also signed safety Gibril Wilson, who was released by the Raiders. Wilson's deal is worth $27.5 million over five years.

Parcells to stay

In an interview with ESPN, Bill Parcells said he will stay with the Dolphins in 2009. Although the Dolphins won the AFC East, Parcells said, "We have a lot to do in Miami. We need a lot more guys." I couldn't agree more.
