The Dolphins signed safety Lance Schulters to a one-year contract. Released by the Titans for salary cap reasons, Schulters missed most of last season with a foot injury. In addition to safety, Schulters can also play cornerback, a position where the Dolphins lack depth.

On Sunday, Ricky Williams officially returned to the Dolphins by reporting to training camp. Now it remains to be seen how good he still is after a year off, and how long he will remain with the team.

The Dolphins picked up USC defensive tackle Manuel Wright in the fifth round of the supplemental draft, thereby forfeiting their fifth round pick in the 2006 draft. Wright could fill a void on the team after Tim Bowens retired and Larry Chester still recovering from injury. Expected to be taken in the second or third round, Wright slipped to the Dolphins after a poor workout last week.
