Dolphins sign seventh-rounder

The Dolphins signed Kelvin Smith, one of their seventh round draft picks. Smith, a linebacker from Syracuse, is the first draft pick to sign. The deal is reportedly for four years.

Ricky Williams tests positive again

ESPN reports that Ricky Williams tested positive for marijuana in April and will not be allowed to apply for reinstatement until September. If it's true, Ricky will likely never be a Miami Dolphin again. Chances are that coach Cameron will either trade him or cut him outright.

I was ready to forgive Ricky one more time and support his comeback attempt, but if he really did take drugs again after everything he's gone through and all of the times he's let down the team and its fans, then I'm no longer a Ricky fan. Goodbye and good riddance.

Wright and Vick cut

The Dolphins cut DT Manny Wright and WR Marcus Vick. Both were "project" players whom former coach Nick Saban picked up, Wright through the 2005 supplemental draft and Vick as a free agent. Wright's most memorable moment as a Dolphin came on his first day of training camp, when he burst into tears after Saban scolded him for having the wrong equipment. Vick is best known as being Michael Vick's brother.
