Gloria Estefan becomes minority owner

Gloria Estefan of the Miami Sound Machine and husband Emilio this week became minority owners of the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are now linked to two famous South Florida entertainers -- Estefan and Jimmy Buffett. I wonder if the stadium would've been name Miami Sound Machine Stadium instead of LandShark Stadium if Gloria had struck a deal with the team first.

Summer updates

There hasn't been much news lately, just some odds and ends from training camp. Apparently, Ted Ginn has made significant progress since last season and could become a legitimate #1 receiver this season. The rookie defensive backs, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith, have also looked good, if coaches' comments mean anything at this point of the off-season. More importantly, both players have gotten reps with the first team.

My impression so far is that the team is a little better and a little deeper than last year, but offsetting that will be a very tough schedule, and some of the bounces that always seemed to go Miami's way last year will undoubtedly bounce in the opponent's favor this year.
