Dolphins sale completed, Parcells on the clock

Stephen Ross officially became the majority owner of the Miami Dolphins. As a result of the transfer of ownership, GM Bill Parcells has 30 days to decide whether he will stay with the team. Current indications are that Parcells will stay, but Dolfans won't breathe easily until the 30 days have passed.

Ravens end Dolphins' postseason hopes

It is my sad duty to report that the Dolphins will not win the Super Bowl this year. They lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Baltimore Ravens, 27-9. Uncharacteristically, turnovers doomed the Dolphins. Miami had tied the NFL record for the least number of turnovers in a 16-game season, but they turned the ball over five times. The running game never got untracked. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for 36 yards on 16 carries. Chad Pennington threw for 252 yards on 25-of-38 passing, but he also threw four interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown.

The Miami Dolphins still had a great year. They got farther than anyone expected them to, including myself. The good news is that the team should be even better next year. The bad news is that, as the division winner, their schedule will be a lot tougher. However, the team has laid the foundation for a prosperous future under Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano.
