Dolphins finally get Trent Green
After months of speculation, the Dolphins finally agreed to a trade with the Chiefs for Trent Green. The Dolphins will offer a conditional fifth round draft pick for the 36-year-old quarterback, which could become a fourth rounder if certain conditions are met.
Ironically, the deal comes on the same day that Daunte Culpepper received medical clearance to practice. Word is that the team is looking to trade Culpepper after acquiring Green.
I've gone on record as saying that I don't think getting Trent Green is a good move for the team, unless Culpepper's injury is actually worse off than we are led to believe. I would take Culpepper coming off injury over an aging Green any day. In the best case scenario, Green will start for the Dolphins for a year or two until John Beck takes over. In the worst case, Green doesn't last a year, Beck is a dud, and Culpepper regains his All-Pro form for another team.

Trent Green is a little bit old. I wish he would not have left Kansas City (big Chiefs fan). He went down hill a little after the concussion. He can do Miami some good if they give him a great line and some receivers to throw to. Those two went downhill a little in KC and that is why his numbers went down. I don't see Green lasting too much longer simply because of his age, but he can still be a Pro Bowl quarterback.
