2007 Draft

The draft is coming up this weekend, and there's no consensus who the Dolphins will pick at #9, barring any trades. Mock drafts I've seen include selecting OT Levi Brown, DT Amobi Okoye, WR Ted Ginn, and CB Leon Hall. Then, there's the talk of selecting a QB in the draft. This is a necessity, in my opinion, whether the team gets Trent Green or not. Daunte Culpepper is clearly not going to be the QB of the future, and I don't believe Cleo Lemon will reach that status, so this draft is the best opportunity. If Brady Quinn should drop to the Dolphins (which I highly doubt), then it's a no-brainer. Otherwise, I would rather see the team draft Drew Stanton or Trent Edwards in the second/third round than to trade up for Quinn or JaMarcus Russell.

With the #9 pick, I'd like the Dolphins to trade down for more picks and then grab an Okoye or Ginn. There isn't much difference in the players projected to go between #6 and #15 this year, IMHO, so why not move down a little in return for more picks? We know the Dolphins need help at more than one position.
