Culpepper released

The inevitable happened. The Miami Dolphins released QB Daunte Culpepper after unsuccessful efforts to trade him and an grievance arbitration hearing looming. Culpepper was with the team for only one season before the Dolphins acquired aging Trent Green to replace him.

I think history will look back at Culpepper's release as a bad decision. I expect him to sign with another team quickly, and five years from now, Culpepper will still be enjoying productive seasons while the Dolphins will have gotten at most one good season out of Green.
